Influenced by calligraphy and motion, Rostarr’s gestural paintings push viewers’ perceptions of form and depth. Presenting his work as a fusion of graphic art, design, and the “laws governing the movement of energy,” he fluidly melds his interests in pattern, iconography, and abstraction. Rostarr’s work has appeared in solo and group exhibitions in Sydney, Singapore, Europe, Japan, and the United States. He’s also worked on clothing and skateboard collaborations with companies such as Nike, Converse, and Turntable Lab.
