Yayoi Kusama for Audi | 100th Anniversary

Iconic Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama has worked with Audi to create a special exhibition to showcase 100 years of the German Car maker.
While it was very early in the career of the 80 year old artist that she used polka dots to cover objects as art, its stuck with her as her iconic trait. One of the best known artists alive today, and the creator of the most expensive piece of work sold by a living female artist, she has lived in a mental hospital where she has made some of her best works since the 1970′s when she moved back to Japan from NYC. A lifetime of enduring mental illness, she has not let this in anyway hold her back.
More of the artists work and story in this video below (KUSAMA: Princess of Polka Dots trailer)
The exhibition takes place in Tokyo at the address below, from Saturday December 12th, running through January 5th, 2010
