Contemporary arts and design magazine Arkitip has come along way since its early fanzine days regularly working with some of the biggest names on our scene to create highly limited and much sought after publications, art prints and special products. The latest issue will see them experiment with a new concept, for the first time they are handing the editorial reigns over to outside parties and allowing them to curate the content of the issue.
The concept of their 53rd issue is collaboration, and it will represent a working catalog for the creative concepts of Ace Hotel’s Alex Calderwod and John C. Jay of advertising agency Wieden + Kennedy. Examining the artistic collaborative process and how technology has progressed this across global geographic and cultural boundaries, both curators have chosen unique individuals from their own personal network of creatives, and in keeping with the theme art directed the issue in collaboration with Arkitip.
Arkitip Issue number 0053X will be available from 15th December 2009 and will feature a collector’s item supplement with each issue, designed in partnership with the curators.
