Imagine you’re sitting at a table while hundreds of scissors dangle perilously above you. Then imagine that you’re charged yourself with the task of calmly sewing together pieces of fabric that your audience has been asked to rip apart. Sounds like something out of a terrible Greek myth about punishment.
But, throwback to 2011, and if you were performance artist Beili Liu, all the terrifying above crap was just something you did. Specifically for The Mending Project, a live art piece about bravery, poise, danger and how frightening scissors are.
