Over the weekend, Tokyo’s COMMON Gallery opened a new solo exhibition of work by Boris Tellegen. Tellegen — known to most as DELTA — rose to prominence as a graffiti artist between the ‘90s to early 2000s, gaining fame and respect in Europe for his 3D lettering work, which draws strongly from the architectural lines and robot engineering. For the show, entitled Overburden, Tellegen debuts a number of new paper works as well as sculptural relief pieces made up of aggressive geometric forms. The result? A feeling of tension, but also the notion of breaking free from the confines of traditional mediums. Overburden runs until December 22nd, 2013.
