As we reported the other day, the weekend was full of rumours around the possibility that Jeffrey Deitch would be announced as the newest Director of Los Angelese MOCA. The rumours have been confirmed, and it was announced today by MOCA that from June 1st Deitch will take the helm. The big question around this move has also been answered, as its also been confirmed that Deitch Projects, Jeffrey Deitch’s namesake NYC Gallery will also close. It’s an interesting move, seeing Deitch become the only Gallerist at the head of US Museum, and also the closure of one of Contemporary art’s most famous galleries. That said, it’s going to be an interesting year at the MOCA you can be sure of that.
