The 10 Coolest Things We Printed On Our Fancy New 3D Printer
Eames Lounge Chair // We’ve always wanted an Eames Chair. Now we’ve got a tiny one.
Little Robot Guy Sitting In A Lounge Chair // Dude is chilling.
Brass Knuckles Paperweight // We don’t endorse using 3D printers to make weapons, but “paperweights” in the shape of weapons are fine.
A dragon // *Insert Game Of Thrones jokes here*.
Charmander // Who needs to catch them all, when you can just print them all. We printed a Charmander, but there’s a whole bunch of gloriously geeky options like Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Pikachu.
A Girlfriend // #art.
Penny Mortar // The office has been caught up in a surprisingly dangerous game of “flick metal currency at each other”.
A “Beefy” Shark // Most sharks don’t have arms, much less brolic, 'roided ones. Ours do.
Stuffed Regal Stag // We don’t have much time to get out to our country estates for big game trophy hunting, so we settled for the next best thing for our wall decorations.
Bear Trap // You never know when you’ll need to catch a tiny bear, stay ready with this tiny plastic trap.
Our office just got a makeover and though most of the changes were cosmetic, there was one new toy that we’ve been having the best time playing with: a MakerBot Replicator2 3D Printer. Since we got it, we’ve been scouring Thingiverse, one of those websites where users upload models that you can download and pop into your printer, and we’ve been making just about anything and everything cool we come across.
It’s infinitely entertaining and if you can get your hands on one, here’s the 10 coolest 3D printer designs we printed up. Try your hand at bringing them to life too. Click through the gallery above, then try printing your own with the files below.
