Take Some Drugs And Go See Phillip K. Smith III’s “Lucid Stead”

Employing the use of mirrors, LED lights, and custom built electronics, artist Phillip K. Smith has created Lucid Stead, an illuminated art installation in Joshua Tree, Califronia. The 70-year old structure at the heart of the installation is part of the land, a notion that Smith has taken further by providing the illusion that the cabin is see-through, both complimenting and contrasting it’s surrounding environment throughout the day. The result is a transformative, peaceful, and contemplative entity that is at one with the world around it. And also a fire hazard, right?
