For our series of mini interviews we have taken a small trip across the pond to catch up with Toby Shuall. Based in the UK, Toby has been an influential figure in the scene especially with his label Suburban Bliss while he has worked on countless other interesting projects in and around London.

SlamxHype – Whats the best thing about the place you were born?
Toby Shuall – London is full of people good and bad and in between everyone is lots of interesting creation.

SXH – Whats your main consumer vice?
TS – I don’t consume much but food and booze sometimes but the thing I always seem to keep buying is illegal in most countries but it comes from the Earth and is widely available anywhere I have ever lived.

SXH – Which 3 people would you want to have dinner with, if you could eat with anyone?
TS – Richard Pryor, Jimi Hendrix and Robert Crumb

SXH – Whats your favourite website not related to streetwear, art or fashion?
TS – but that is art I suppose I am gonna have say great finding things out for example I found the origin of Basil is India and one had always presumed that it must have been Italy.

SXH – Best new fashion/streetwear brand of 2008?
TS – The Trilogy Tapes

SXH – Best song thus far in 2008?
TS – One of the best new bands for me that i only heard this year is Deerhunter and the song Cryptograms has been doing it for me this week.

SXH – Best decade for music?
TS – 1960’s

SXH – Best decade for art?
TS – 1960’s

SXH – Songs you consider to be timeless?
TS – All good Music is timeless if music is good it enters the realm of being Timeless but here’s one i can always listen to Hallogallo by NEU! from NEU!

SXH – What did you have for breakfast?
TS – A Melon they are cheap at the moment for once so have been eating bear melons.
