A name set to create an exuberating feel inside the Metropolitan Musuem in New York is that of late Francis Bacon. With “A Centenary Retrospective” exhibition opening tomorrow the exhibition marks a century past since the artist’s birth in Dublin in 1909, bringing together some of the most significant works from each period of his career. In addition the Thursday, May 22 will see the MET hold a free full day symposium, highlighted with a panel discussion and a number of lectures focusing on the career and legacy of the artist.
Finally read this strong account for Francis Bacon, with a compelling and interesting essay writen by John Richardson here.
Thanks to Art Collectors for the heads up.
