Gerhard Richter, eminent painter and permanent fixture of global contemporary art, has returned to London with his latest exhibition. ‘Portraits’ focuses on Richter’s trademark works, mostly drawn from photographs, newspaper clippings and other such sources. However, these images are never transposed literally; something far more rarefied exists in Richter’s vision.

Following shows at London’s Serpentine Gallery and the National Galleries in Scotland, Richter’s next exhibition in the United Kingdom is certain to be a triumph. These works will be on display until May 31st.
