A collaboration show entitled “Imagined Nostalgia” will be opening at 41 Cooper Gallery, a project from Lucien Smith and Jack Siegel. The work is based on the idea that we let ourselves create false memories of the past, letting ourselves believe the things that happened were better, worse, or different then they actually were. Smith says of the show; “I wanted to create objects from a childhood that I never experienced firsthand.” The show will feature yearbook style photos of faces such as filmmaker Austin Peters and the artist Brenden Lynch.

“Imagined Nostalgia” opens May 6 at 41 Cooper Gallery, 41 Cooper Square, New York.
