Coinciding with his epic multimedia show at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, culture magazine Mass Appeal caught up with KAWS to talk about his involvement with PAFA’s Sculpture Plinth Exhibition, his use of architecture and space, and different aspects of his career. It’s been a big year for KAWS, who in addition to the PAFA exhibition has exhibited at Giswel in Switzerland, re-imagined the MTV moon man for the channel’s 2013 Video Music Awards and unveiled a large scale mural at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. He also announced the end for his clothing label OriginalFake, much to the disappoint of fans of the brand.
