Iconic German furntiture company Thonet, has worked together with Japanese minimal furntiture and lifestyle company MUJI on a range of great affordable designer furniture. Re-interpreting two historically important styles from Thornet’s designer range. The first is inspired by the curved wooden chair “No 14” (now called the 214), which was made in 1859 by THONET (Originally made using Thonet’s own unique “bentwood” known for being inexpensive and practical) , the second is based on the tubular steel furniture created by members of the German school of design, Bauhaus, in the 1920s (Somewhat resembles previous Thonet designs by the famed Mies van der Rohe). A great range of furniture available now at a MUJI store near you. Go to the official site here to look at the full range. More images below.
