At three minutes to midnight every night this month, Tracey Eman’s new work, I Promise To Love You, will bear a romantic neon message in the heart of Times Square. In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, the neon sign will include the phrases “Love is what you want” and “I can’t believe how much I loved you”, spelled out as if written by an invisible hand. The project is part of the “Midnight Moment” presentation, an initiative by the Times Square Advertising Coalition who have granted the Times Square Alliance three minutes a day to organize fleeting public art projects.
