Between October 4, 2012 and February 3, 2013, The Children’s Museum of the Arts in New York hosted the RAMMELLZEE Galaxseum exhibition which presented the most comprehensive collection of works by the late artist, musician and inventor to-date. Included in the show were full-body life-sized costumes, masks, character frescoes, figurines, large scale paintings and video and audio recordings from some of his performances, alongside RAMMELLZEE’s legendary letter racers which were suspended from the ceiling. These car-like vehicles represent letters of the alphabet seeking to “break free.”
When Google Maps‘ Street View cameras entered the museum for their own documentation earlier this year, RAMMELLZEE’s Galaxseum happened to be on show, resulting in the unexpected archiving of the exhibition to be visited online for the foreseeable future. Check out RAMMELLZEE’s Galaxseum for yourself, here. Thanks to Dr Zulu for the heads up.
