  • Krane Spring/Summer 2012 Small Leather Goods Collection

Known for his supremely executed outerwear and bags, Ken Chow continually progresses his Krane label by introducing bold pieces dashed with Ken’s ideals of vintage uniform wears and modern industrial design. While those whom have come in contact with anything from his label can attest to its superior craftsmanship the label has seemingly flown under the noses of many, amassing a underground cult following. For the upcoming Spring/Summer season Krane will introduce luxurious smaller “object of desire” leather goods to extend the reach of the much larger collection. By utilizing supple deer, and washed lamb skins the goods are kept inline with the premium offers the label has come to be known for, just in a smaller package. Four different pieces will be offered; two differently styled card holders, a zip wallet, and a bi-fold wallet. The small goods collection is currently exclusively available at Fred Segal Man with global retailers offering in the coming months.

  • Rochambeau Spring/Summer 2012 Collection

Menswear label Rochambeau has quietly built a name for itself from its New York base. Label heads Joshua Cooper and Laurence Chandler formed the label in 2007 in hopes of taking their knowledge of design, and passion for menswear to new heights with their own incarnation. Since then the label has garnered numerous accolades with the most recent being their recent showing of their Fall/Winter 2011 Collection at Fashion Week last February.

For their upcoming Spring/Summer collection the longtime friends have created an collection much more inspired by the attitude of the wearer then any outside influences. The attitude is best describes as, “It’s about the juxtaposition of a man who cares deeply about clothes but once he is wearing something, he completely forgets about it as it fuses with his natural self.” Each piece from the collection is meant to invoke an effortless and tasteful look , where the clothing becomes part of the wearer not his garb. The collection will see its day in the coming months with Rochambeau retailers OAK NYC, HARVEY NICHOLS, OKII-NI, CHURCH LA and The Mondrian Hotel all taking stock.

  • Jesse Boykins III “Light to Dark” Film by Street Etiquette

We have featured the music of Jesse Boykins III at SLAMXHYPE a few times but never have we been presented his work with such visuals provided by the Street Etiquette team. Joshua Kissi makes his directorial debut, choosing “Light to Dark” from Jesse’s Way of the Wayfarer EP as the soundscape for his experimental efforts. Joshua explains the process as such. “What I found interesting was that despite preparing 100% for a shot, we would sometimes get unintended results. I learned an important lesson about planning but leaving room for growth and creativity. I’m not saying all of this from my comfortable director‘s chair with “Spielberg” etched on the back, I’m just saying that if you are inspired to do something, embark on it and you may never know where that path will lead you”. A new left has turned for the Street Etiquette boys as their first effort provides a great foundation for much much growth.

  • Beautiful Fül Spring/Summer 2012 Collection

With the burden of winter upon much of the northern hemisphere we’re beginning to be a welcomed glimpse into the offerings we will be seeing come next spring. Inspired by his upbringing on the westside of Los Angeles, Beautiful Fül label head Alejandro sought to encapsulate much of the style he saw while growing up. As man LA Cholos begun to look for life outside of gang life they looked towards greaser, hot rod and punk subculture; “But when I started getting older i saw that the same guys who were once Cholos were trying to get out of the life, and a lot of them turned to the “Greaser” culture, “Hot Rod” culture, and Punk Rock. It was a strange mixture looking back at it. But for some reason it always worked.” This “strange mixture” is evident in the collection as the attention and understanding of detailing from the LA Cholo subculture blend with car/motorcycle inspired italian leathers for an cohesive and impressive look. Japanese flannel plaids, italian leather hides, silk pants, and cone denim are just some of the impressive materials utilized by Alejandro for Beautiful Fül and has turned in an very personal but more importantly relatable and wearable look.

  • SVSV “our Hyper-Reality” Lookbook

Upon the successful relaunch of his much beloved Serum vs Venom (SVSV) label, David Gensler has returned to interject what he feels is the broken and institutionalized fashion system which modern day labels adhere to. WIth the latest collection from SVSV entitled “our Hyper-Reality” Gensler sought to impose a personal reality check, in a sense, by breaking away from the standard practices of seasonal offerings, and trend based looks. Instead, SVSV will function via instinct, only producing what and when based off of their direct relationship with their supports and customer base.

The collection’s influences are as diverse as any collection we have previewed within the last few years. Ethnic Ikat fabrics are applied to reconstructed vintage and deadstock military garments. Knits from Canada’s Roopa Knitting Mills provide additional texture and layering pieces. With a collection as extensive as “out Hyper-Reality” many labels would have suffered from a lack of cohesion, this isn’t the case in this instance as each piece carries a thread from the next garment. The entire collection is currently available through the SVSV online store and will launch at Henrik Vibskov New York within a month.
