  • Art Platform 2011: Ai Weiwei

    Art Platform is currently underway in Los Angeles with an impressive list of exhibits scheduled to taking part in the art fair this year. Ai Weiwei’s installation seems to have stood out as many sites are reporting upon Snake Bag a 55 foot long installation created from 360 children’s backpacks. The installation was created to commemorate the deadly 2008 sichuan earthquake. An activist at heart Ai Weiwei was taken by thousands of children’s backpacks in the rubble left behind in the wake of the disaster. A touching piece, strong, powerful and poignant.
