    Nikon have announced that they will be releasing their new digital SLR camera, the D90 – which will replace the highly regarded D80.The D90 will feature improved ISO noise quality, more mega-pixels and an option to shoot with live-view, and will shoot up to 720p @ 1080×720 HD Video, which effectively means you can use your D90 to shoot video with the same quality as you would capture your still photos!

    Greg “Craola” Simkins exhibits his newest work, It Wanders East on September 6, 2008 at Joshua Liner Gallery in New York.      Simkins art melds the real world with the disturbing and fantastical and continues in the theme of his previous exhibitions.

    In this world, a boy sits in his newly demolished home, dreaming of his escape. Messenger candles from the Baron dot the land. Good fruits accompany moths and butterflies, while snowmen befriend various birds and creatures from the menagerie of Simkins’ imagination.

    Feast of Burden is a new exhibition by Carolyn Salas and Adam Parker Smith in THINK SILLY web magazine. 

    The exhibition will be held in THINK SILLY Store from 30th Aug to 28th Sep.    Think Silly will be making a special edition t-shirt and newspaper bag for this event.

    Carolyn Salas just this year has received awards including Jentel Residency Program, 2008, and the Blue Mountain Center Award, 2008.

    Adam Parker Smith too this year has been awarded the Djerassi Residency, 2008, Blue Mountain Artist Residency 2008 and Jentel, 2008.

  • Steve Powers aka ESPO “Separating Light from Dark”

    Opening September 10 at Galleria Patricia Armocida, Milan, Separating Light from Dark is the first italian solo exhibition from artist, Steve Powers aka ESPO.   Having participated in the 49th Venice Biennale in 2001, Powers is back and exhibiting his most recent work including the debut of 25 enamel on aluminum paintings and the series 8 Week Paintings from his solo exhibition at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia in 2007.

    Reminiscent of the graphic esthetics of 1950s hand-painted advertising signs - Separating Light from Dark combines these familiar aesthetics with the obvious biblical reference and conversely, the desperately mundane act of separating whites from blacks when doing laundry.
