Having already seen much of the Uniform Experiment and Soph collections for this winter, here comes a another piece of Hirofumi Kiyonaga’s empire with the FCRB collection. Once again I will talk about an aesthetic which has lasted the test of time, as Hiorfumi Kiyonaga is inspired by all fascits of soccer to draw together something very unique in fashion terms. Dash Snow’s "End Of Living The Beginning Of Survival" Book

The reknown work of artist Dash Snow has made its way into a fascinating publication portraying Dash Snow’s distinctive and unique approach to his work. Entitled "End Of Living The Beginning Of Survival" this graphic book which is a collection of stills from his exhibition at the Contemporary Fine Arts in Berlin from last year, this will make for a great addition to any library.

Board Art Exhibition

Board Art is a celebration of underground culture with the goal of showcasing the scope of New Zealand’s creative talent, from emerging artists and designers to highly regarded practitioners with an established reputation in either field. The brief is for selected artists to take a blank skateboard and respond to it as a graphic vessel or art object to create an original artwork from. 70 artists have been selected and invited to participate in Board Art 2008. Now in its 6th year, Board Art is a highly successful exhibition with increasing participation from local, national and international artists. As well as original artwork, limited edition commercial skateboards on loan from private collections will also be on display.
Definitely one to check out if in Auckland, with Mair Gallery playing hosts until the 9th of August.

Uniqlo 2008 Autumn/Winter Collection

Uniqlo has gained a very strong following on a global scale in recent years, largely known for their extensive range of basic pieces at affordable prices. They have recently uploaded their Fall/Winter 2008 Collection on their website, which places an emphasis on a wide variety of essential items for the up and coming winter season. Along with the release of the collection is also a nice Uniqlo Experience Explorer, which provides a innovative way of browsing through induvidual items from the new and previous collection through a flash generated photo mosaic type navagation interface. A very well designed website along to match the direction of the label. Definitely worth a look at, Check out the website here.

Fuct X Flake Japan for Winter 2008 Kids Collection

Here’s a extensive look at the kids collection from a collaboration between Fuct, a brand we are quite familiar here at Slam x Hype, and Japanese kids clothing label ’Flake’, Created by Jun Kasamatsu, who had been the long running designer for Hysteric Glamour Mini. We have previously shown you a preview here, and again this impressive collection transposes classic graphics and prints from the ‘Adult’ collection, to result in this Kids collection that is well worth checking out. Most definitely on key from what has been coming out from both Visvim and Soph in recent times, with this Logan featuring a calf suede upper it could not be anymore impressive. To boast the more refined black colorway is the well executed brown pair which features a great lighter shade of brown for the outsole. This is going to be another epic release to look out for this winter.

Having already seen a vague idea of what dropped yesterday from Soph’s much talked about Autumn/Winter collection it is welcoming to see more of the line at large. The label continues to evolve although maintaining the same philosophy and aesthetic which has been a huge success over the past 10 years. Items like vests, flannel shirts and knitwear have made a distinctive appearance along with the jackets, pants and shirts which have been at the core of the brand.
