CS Editions Artist Books Online Website
November 3rd 10, 14:52
My friend Ramsey Dau has been doing great things in the creative community (Creative Superstore) and now with his CS Editions Artists books. In the past he has featured top artists such as: Tim Biskup, Ed Templeton, Deedee Cheriel, Cleon Patterson and more.
More on CS Edtions - “Some things are just better in analog. We happen to be the kind of people who love vinyl records, have no problem spending an afternoon in the local bookstore browsing coffee table tomes, flipping through magazines or reading the first few pages of a couple books on our “recommended” list, and we’d much rather drive a 911 up Mulholland than play Gran Turismo. We also like to write things down. On paper. So we started Creative Superstore Editions – because who doesn’t like a nice pocket-sized notebook? And with 48 pages of creamy smooth, drawing-quality paper, CS Editions are the perfect place to store your dreams, doodle your deepest desires, or simply keep track of your grocery lists.”
This time Ramsey has now launched a website for CS Editons as well as a new series of artists featuring: Kelsey Brookes, Kill Pixie, Luke Ramsey, Jesse Spears, Yago Hortal, Brian Bonifacio, and Jonathan Zawada.
You can find his books online or in the Los Angeles area at the Geffen Contemporary, Hennessey + Ingalls, MOCA, the Standard Hotel, MCASD and Treasury Dept. If you’re in Paris, Colette & the Lazy Dog.
Check out his new website and blog at cseditionslonline.com

Jonsi (of Sigur Ros) went solo & played a sold out show at the Wiltern last night in Los Angeles & it was next level. This show was a lot different than Coachella, with the set design and projection created by the same design company for the Metropolitan Opera Company & English National Opera, Fifty-Nine Productions. Here’s an article on the set design for the show.
Couple Clips from the Wiltern Show:
If you have a chance to catch his upcoming show tonight in Pomona @ the Fox Theater, you should def. check it out.

Arcade Fire’s Interactive Video “We used to Wait”
August 30th 10, 17:06
Director Chris Milk just blew my mind & raised the bar on online interactive short films/music video’s for Arcade Fire’s new song “We Used to Wait.” ”Nostalgia” is the best way to describe it and you must download Google Chrome to get the full effect. There’s a link on the site but it def. won’t disappoint.
Oh, by the way you have to enter the address to the house you grew up in…It’s so next level.

“Travelin’ North” Contrast | Filler Magazine Editorial Photo & Video Shoots
August 24th 10, 13:10
Earlier in the Summer, photographer Daeja Fallas and I conceptualized an editorial photo shoot for Contrast Magazine & editorial video shoot for Canadian Filler Magazine with the concept of an old 1960’s song by Vashti Bunyan called “Train Song” & featuring it for multiple magazines, each fulfilling their own roles of presenting the content. The shoot featured multiple collections but focused mainly on Creative Growth for Everybody, the oldest and largest disabled artist organization in the world, based in Oakland CA. The print version just hit newstands this week and below are some images from the shoot. There is also a link below to the video content in Filler Magazine, which I directed.

July 29th 10, 12:32
Here’s a fashion editorial video that I directed for Filler Magazine, a Canadian Publication. A lot of the shirt pieces she’s wearing is Creative Growth for Everybody, a brand that I’ve been creative directing for the past year. Amazing collection and features artworks by disabled artists from Creative Growth, the oldest and largest artist community in the world. The collection is now being sold at: Barneys NY, Colette, Dover St. Market, Selfridges, Ron Herman/Fred Segal, American Rag, Isetan, Barneys Japan, Tomorrowland, Estnation, and all of the better boutiques and stores around the world; it supports a great cause. Stay tuned for more images and artworks in the near future…We just shot Spring 2011 – half in NYC and the other half at the Venice Skate Park on influential demographic skateboarders…..

Creative Growth for Everybody & Oakland Trip
March 23rd 10, 14:37
Not sure if you’ve known but in addition to KZO, I’ve been Creative Directing a Mens & Womens line called Creative Growth for Everybody, which supports an amazing art organization for disabled artists in Oakland, California called Creative Growth. It’s a collaboration between Creative Growth, the News, and the Knoernschild family. Currently it’s in Barney’s, MAC SF, American Rag, Fred Segal, Dover Street Market, Selfridges, Tomorrowland, Estnation, Nano Universe, Barney’s Japan, Beams and other top notch accounts. For the upcoming Autumn 10 collection, Colette in Paris.
Below is some images from the Spring 10 collection being worn by the designers at the News Showroom, and a photos from my last trip to Oakland last week picking out artwork for the Spring 11 collection.
Notes on Creative Growth: Creative Growth is the oldest and largest nonprofit visual art center in the country, providing arts programs to adults with developmental, physical, mental, and emotional disabilities. Creative Growth provides a stimulating environment for artistic instruction, gallery promotion and personal expression. The more than 120 adults enrolled in the program create imaginative, beautiful and finely crafted works, and receive proceeds for sales of their artwork.

William Scott Masks
Unfinished artwork by William Scott. The faces were all supposed to be the band “En Vogue” but the last face got changed last minute to Janet Jackson….Work in Progress.
William Scott would take his art piece outside and really focus on what the next step in his art piece would be. He also has a new black cowboy hat that he’s been working on and would do the same thing, and carry it around. Very inspiring…..
William Scott almost finished with his piece. You can see Janet Jackson’s face has now materialized.
