Can’t Tell Them Nothing
April 3rd 09, 12:23
Not only is April 4th my born day, it also marks the day of release for Adidas Consortium group 1 (ARC, LimitEDitions, Sneakersnstuff and Patta) 3Way project and, needless to say, the most anticipated Nike Air Yeezy. Feel any way you want about the shoes, one can’t deny the excitement this release brings along in sneaker culture. I’m enjoying it!
Fitted hat off to the first in line to obtain a pair of Yeezy’s at Patta Amsterdam tomorrow. Y’all are set.

Love is… Joining your boyfriend in the line up.

Ask anyone you know who has ever experienced Amsterdam on Queensnight/day (and lives to speak about it), and they will surely tell you it was one epic clusterfuck of music, people and fun (and on certain occasions, excessive usage of very alcoholic beverages and drugs in all colors). I doubt this year will be any different, at least not on our part. Tickets are available as of today at Patta and Löfel & Burke. Like previous years they’ll probably be gone faster than sound (Hi Janis Joplin). No hookups and such, do what you gotta do!

Hudson
March 30th 09, 6:14
Patta extended familymembers Bobbito Garcia and Rich Medina from New York aka New Amsterdam will be making their way to the original Amsterdam this week to hang out, rock some parties and celebrate the Hudson Year. The Hudson year celebrates the fact that 400 years ago (that’s 1609 for those who suck at math) this cat named Henry Hudson discovered the harbor and river while captaining the Dutch East India Company. Oh yeah, Bob and Rich will also be promoting their new Afro and Latin compilation album “The Connection” (R2 Records).

Tom Trago’s Direct Voyage
March 25th 09, 7:42

Bias aside, one of the freshest new generation producers and accomplished DJ’s coming from The Netherlands is our lil’ buddy Tom Trago. Tom’s also part of the celebrated Parra Soundstystem, the Trago in Yuro Trago, and calls the versatile Rush Hour/Kindred Spirits Labels his recording home.
He already released several records in the past, including the ‘Fluor Green EP’ on Rush Hour/Nod Navigators, a Hip Hop flavored EP in the fashion of Beat Dimensions. Having finally finished his damn study, he found more time to focus on expanding his production skill.
This resulted in last years ‘Primary Roots’ (as Yuro Trago) and his new new album ‘Voyage Direct’. The ‘Voyage Direct’ album is a homage to his love for disco and house music, and throws the listener in a timewarp, filtering the listener back to the 90’s in a contemporary way, if that makes any sense.
This ain’t a record review though, y’all can catch a peep at www.rushhour.nl/tomtrago for a preview. The release jumpoff takes place this thursday at Club Trouw, and he might be promoting the new album in your area soon, as well as working on more production such as the disco project with San Proper, a visit to the Carl Craig studios in Detroit to work on new Yuro Trago material and remixing other peoples material (watch out for his Phillipe Zdar remix on Cassius Records).

Patta x adidas Consortium 3WAY
March 17th 09, 10:54

So here’s what Gee and I went on a mission for in Stockholm last year, to work on the latest adidas Consortium project – alongside the fine people of limitEDitions, Alife Rivington Club and Sneakersnstuff, who were wonderful hosts as well. We rochambeau’d and (later fistfaught) all of them to be able to pick the Forums, and as you can see, we came out victorious! Just playing. Since we toyed around with the idea of working on a womens shoe for a while, we decided this was a good opportunity to do so, and picked the Forum Mid as our working canvas. This is the outcome, springtime colors and lush materials without going overboard. Little instep surprise in there too! This ties in with our fifth anniversary product releases as well. available at Patta soon, so stay tuned girls!

We worked on a group shoe as well, which turned out quite nice if I might say so. Go here, here and here for a complete look at all shoes from group 1.

Winne Zonder Strijd
February 24th 09, 9:51
I’m not a big fan of Dutch language Hip Hop. I mean, there are a couple of cats who can flow and whatever whatever, but in general it doesn’t move me. Sorry if I hurt any rapper dude’s feelings, go make a Youtube diss. One of the few exceptions however, is this ‘new’ cat named Winne who came on the scene with the presence and expertise of a veteran MC. The release of his album had been planned a couple of times but fell through (Sai Giddy I see you). Now ‘Winne Zonder Strijd’ (‘Win without fighting’, what up Sun Tzu) is finally coming out in March on friday the 13th, and I’m betting my euro’s it’s gonna be dope! Plus my man FS Green got a joint on there as well. Be sure to grab the bamboo package-version.
