How to Determine If Your Date Is an Axe Murderer
1. Watch for the following:
* A Caucasian male in his twenties or thirties
* Obsession with fire or matches
* Cruelty to animals
* History of bed-wetting
* Sexually abused as a child
* Middle-class background combined with loner behavior
* Difficulty maintaining relationships
An individual who exhibits more than three of these traits may be dangerous.
2. Trust your intuition. Your instinct is a powerful weapon. If something feels wrong, it probably is.
3. Check him out officially. Obtain his social security number and investigate him. Call the Federal Prison Locator Service (202-307-3126) to determine if he was ever incarcerated. Many online companies can aid in financial reports or tracking down previous addresses. You may also want to enlist the services of a private detective.
4. If you discover grounds for suspicion, break off the relationship immediately. Be clear and definitive about your decision. Return all of his belongings and gifts. Do not make promises to keep in touch. Be straightforward and kind, and talk only about yourself and why the relationship no longer works for you. Do not blame him. Try not to make him angry.
5. Take steps to maintain your safety.
* Carry a cell phone.
* Install a home security system.
* Change your phone numbers.
* Stay near populated, well-lit areas.
* Apprise a friend or relative of your concerns.
* Document any strange or unusual happenings.
* Take a personal safety/self-defense class.

Dancing on the Moon with Tears in My Eyes
December 10th 08, 15:23

“Dancing on the Moon with Tears in My Eyes” is an exhibition of new works by Dutch artists Henny Overbeek, Simon Schrikker and Boris Tellegen (Delta). The three artists have met each other in the scene during the nineties. After a few years, each of them went their way, pursuing an education in arts or design, seemingly going in completely different directions. All doing their art, but one doing it with oil paint, the other with paper and canvas collage, or with layers of wood. Recently after meeting up again, they realized that their work has more in common then they previously thought. Maybe it is due to listening to the same music in the eighties… “Dancing on the Moon with Tears in My Eyes” is kicking off December 11th and runs til January 10th. The opening reception takes place tomorrow at 6pm. An exclusive catalog limited to 49 pieces has been published to celebrate the three being united once again.Alice Gallery & Shop

Blog to the Hoo
December 9th 08, 20:14
Piet’s Boo to the Hoo exhibition jumped off last weekend at the Lazy Dog Gallery in Paris and has been well covered on the internets the past few days. Hell, even the Louis Vuitton Don was up on it, so I’ll keep it to a minimum. One nice place to check out when staying in Paris is Hotel Amour.

In the same area is the recently opened Pigalle boutique, something to check for as well when in Paris.

The Lazy Dog was packed…

This guy was having a good time, so it seems. Last time I checked he was still there, so if you happen to have a little something something with a couple zeros behind it, I suggest you invest and pick him up.

Afterwards Le Regine was poppin’… Soundsystem settin’ it off!

Made For Skate
November 28th 08, 11:51
Nike SB joined forces with local Amsterdam skatestores Ben G (downstairs from the Patta store) and Toms to host a grand exhibition containing five decades of memorable skateboard footwear. The space opens this upcoming sunday November 30th and will be open daily til January 4th. Alongside the gallery there will also be a lounging space and a SB popup store carrying the special SB Blazer Nike produced for this event (23 pairs, available sunday 12pm) and a lot of deadstock product (I’m talking silver and pink SB boxes – $$$).
I dropped by to take a peek inside and kind of saw my youth flash by. All types of Vans, Etnies, Visions, Airwalks and more I used to own (and destroy) while skateboarding back in the day. I also made a (huge) selection of my favorite videoparts which will be showed on big screen in the lounge. I don’t recall selecting this one though:
Totally not related, but for the frequent travellers among us this little number could come in handy:
HP+ alarm clock! Go grab a copy of the latest Smart mag and it’s yours.
ps. And leave me a comment on how to set the time on this thing, cause I can’t figure it out haha.

Made for Skate Exhibition
November 19th 08, 20:24
This will be nice. I might have to wear some antique Rector pads to the show. With the xl stick-on replacement caps. Oh yeah, all you SB-fanatics might want to get your acquisitive mittens one of the 24 pairs of the Nike Made for Skate Blazers created for this event only. Think Hobie. Might show you later. Now let me go dig into the ancient VHS collection to submit some of my alltime favorite skatevideo parts. Any suggestions besides the staples such as Bones Brigade stuff and Blind Video Days?

Haze x Lotus
November 18th 08, 19:10
Our friend Haze hit me up on the email earlier with some dopeness he has been working on. Last month Eric got busy with the legendary handskills he is known for and painted a Lotus Exige (that is a quite sporty 50,000 euro automobile for those who don’t know) for the 10th anniversary of the highly addictive videogame “Gran Turismo”. If you’re into Haze’s works, the car, or both, and you got it like that, feel free to visit your bookmarks and hit up Ebay as the car is up for auction right now, with the proceeds going to a charity benefiting “Studio in a School” in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. For the less wealthy among us there’s always a free url!
