    Marc Jacob’s collection for Spring/Summer touches on very classical and traditional garments all with subtle quirks typical of the designer. We see some very nice detailing and even seams hand drawn with black ink.  Marc references 1980’s NYC as a source of inspiration and there is a tone of ‘no messy about’ in this range.

  • Interview with Lagerfeld

    Here’s an interview of design legend Karl Lagerfeld interviewed by adman Amir Kassaei at “Gipfel der Kreativität” held in Berlin earlier this year. Organized by the Art Directors Club for Germany, the symposium about design, marketing and advertising. Everything under the sun was discussed, ranging from Lagerfeld’s creatives powers through to how he maintains his hair. Kassaei gets down to business later in the interview and talks about Karl’s photography, his fashion legacy and plans for the future, especially since his 95th birthday is just around the corner.   • Nepenthes Asymmetric Brogue

    The  remergence of the Brogue, whether pebble grain, Italian leather, or suede, can add a classical touch to any suit. Although due to the bulky character, wearing an Adam Kimmel suit would be more fitting than one produced by Dior. In a risky attempt to add a more avant garde appeal to such a traditional shoe, Nepenthes decided to play with the toe cap design. For most Brogues the toe area is where distinction is found. Nepenthes took the asymmetric approach and did two classic designs on one pair. The end result goes almost unnoticed oddly enough. It most be the rich brown suede that distracts the attention.

  • Notorious B.I.G. Tribute Mixtape

    Notorious hits theatres in France June 24th. In respect to the Brooklyn rapper, and the George Tillman Jr. directed film VR the Legend & Uncle T have released their newest tape, a Notorious B.I.G. tribute mix. The celebratory mixtape blends Biggie classics with the songs they were originally sampled from, and audio clips from the movie. VR the Legend & Uncle T have combined all the tracks of this mix on one long track, similar to the golden days of hip hop mixtapes. You can download the mixtape here.

  • AJ Fosik’s There’s Aliens in our Midst

    Today marks the opening of folk inspired artist Aj Fosik. The solo exhibit is at White Walls in San Fransico and will be until July 12th. Fosik’s attention to detail has been immensely recognized and praised by the underground art scene for some time. He seems to walking further into the light each day. The show is sure to showcase several of Fosik’s psychedelic three-dimensional wood pieces.

  • Uniqlo Tokyo Fashion Map

    In cahoots with Graffiti Magazine, Uniqlo is taking its customers and potential patrons on a tour of the city. Throughout the journey you are introduced to various natives all over Tokyo as they pass around Uniqlo’s Spring parka. Each person adds their own touch to the jacket and the site even allows you to buy what the individual is wearing. So far the Spring Parka Campaign has shown signs of success and I must say, all 1000 men and women did a pretty superb job of remixing one piece. Check it out for yourself here.

The aftermath of the infamously expensive companies is a three part bag collection. All three bags have the same Italian mocha leather; although the backpack is majority grained white leather with mocha accents.
