  • Erin Forsyth | The Forest For The Trees

    Tomorrow evening, New Zealand-born artist Erin Forsyth is launching “The Forest For The Trees” at the Marker Gallery, marking her first solo exhibition in Melbourne. A practising artist of “no fixed abode”, Forsyth has spent the last twelve months exhibiting at Monster Children, MTV, Lee, Black and Blue, Liberty, Plaything and Some Days Galleries amongst others and her illustrations have garnered her an international cult following. Describing “The Forest For The Trees” as a collection of new illustrations, paintings and watercolours, it promises to be an exhibition of high calibre (and fun times). Forsyth’s new print for Little Art Book, “The Agony”, will also become available at the Gallery for the first time in Melbourne. Forsyth’s illustrations will be on display until June 20th.

A series of unorthodox methods were used to preview the acclaimed japanese designers work. GRACE will run through May 19th at the Joyce boutique in Hong Kong.

  • Inside Jeff Koons Studio

    Jeff Koons is enjoying a golden period: during 2008, the Pop artist’s work met much acclaim at Sotheby’s New York, was shown several times at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and later exhbited at Versailles – a first for a contemporary American artist.     New York artist Mickalene Thomas, the subject of ever-increasing international attention, has launched her first solo show in New York – “She’s Come UnDone!” at Lehmann Maupin.     Berlin-based artist BOXI is launching his debut show on Thursday, April 9th at Carmichael Gallery. Described as a “figurative Logan Hicks”, the realistic effect of “Grey Area” is the result of complicated process involving several layers of hand-cut stencils and equal variation of grey-scale paint.
