American Visionary Art Museum x Bergdorf Goodman
June 30th 09, 22:05

Earlier this week Berdgorf Goodman showcased their out of place “Outside Artist” window display. The very elaborate displays are in collaboration with American Visionary Art Museum and grace 11 Goodman windows.
The art blends designer clothing with pieces and collections of art from artist who are actually doctors, engineers and other blue collar professions. The idea was inspired when the Bergdorf visual team was sent to seek inspiration at the museum.
Some of the more recognized pieces are: Divine,a drag sculpture by Andrew Logan, the little “critters” at the foot of the display (Clyde Jones) , and the wooden cowboy (Ben Ortega). But the piece that has stole the show is Fifi. The gigantic pink poodle in between the Goyard and Prada sections, inside the store. The windows will be in full form until July 20th. To see more.

For Autumn/Winter 2009 , Levi’s collaborated with 42 Associates on both footwear and accessories designing a capsule collection. 42 Associates is a UK creative company that will help Levi maintain its presence in UK with their respected reputation, says You Nguyen Levi’s Creative Director.
The collection will feature eighteen different pieces; every piece has been designed to uphold the suave, yet rugged American style Levi’s has always provided. To ensure diversity the duo has prepared a casual shoe, casual boot, work boot, and western boot. There isn’t anything exaggeratedly stylish about the collection but it maintains its classic appeal.

Laitinen Spring/Summer 2010 Collection
June 25th 09, 8:19

After being acknowledged for their debut collection by receiving a special mention award in 2006, Laitinen is now five seasons along. But more recently in Milan (with the rest of the world) the siblings, Tuomas and Anna Laitinen, had a chance to make waves once more. The duo succeeded as they debut their menswear collection. The silhouette of which looks like it can only fit a lanky European. Nevertheless, the style and construction is flawless much like their women’s apparel. Keep an eye out as they will only get better.

Dior Homme Leather Chukka Boot
June 23rd 09, 2:51

Dior is not one for doing a boot, sneaker, or shoe in general that doesn’t have Italian features or futuristic components. The most recent in released sneakers from the fashion house has followed the extremely hi-top trend, with a slender figure. These new shoes are sign of the times and designer for Dior. Under the shielded wing of Gareth Pugh Dior has since taken a darker tone in some areas. These shoes show the influence of his own personal style and add a goth twist with chunky toe, platformish sole, and solid black theme. Although it would seem these are only appropriate in a mosh pit, they also can be sported under signature tapered Dior jeans and tee under leather biker coat.

Thanks to HS for the images.

Russell Moccasin x Nepenthes Country Oxford
June 22nd 09, 7:45
Not long ago we posted a Nepenthes brogue in collaboration with Trickers. This time it is a country oxford in collaboration with Russel Moccasin. Nepenthes rejuvenates the timeless classic shoe design via a few creative additions. The first alteration, in the sole, seems to be a sign of the times. The Vibram chunky, white, sole helps bring the country oxford up to date. The distressed finish on the body of the boot and complete mix-n-match of material adds a never before seen twist. This version is one a kind.

Folk Autumn/Winter 2009 Collection
June 16th 09, 15:04
Folk previews a very strong product offering for the post-summer season. Holding true to their own personal roots, knits and flannels are in effect as well as some detailed accessories. Detail and embellishment seemed to be a major focus this season from the casual menswear veterans. Highlights you should take notice to are the contrast buttons and sleeve bands. Misshapen pockets and creative stitch design are other pivotal points in the collection. Woven belts and mittens suggest Folk is preparing you for a chilly winter season.
