Apple WWDC 2009 Announcements - iPhone 3GS

Apple held their annual Wordwide Developers Conference earlier this morning hence a handful of announcements. The highlights are: iPhone 3GS (Looks exactly the same as 3G but faster, better graphics, sound improvement, new 3 megapixel camera, now can record video, voice command, battery life up to 9 hours of internet surfing, 10 hours of video, 30 hours of audio, 12 hours of 2g talk-time, 5 hours of 3g talk-time. Also ships with iPhone OS 3.0. Original iPhone 3G is now $99 (at least in USA for qualified AT&T customers) New iPhone OS 3.0 (Cut/copy/paste/undo, navigation, MMS Messages, Keyboard landscape mode in Mail/Notes/Messages. overall 100 more new features. New iPhone OS 3.0 available for download on June 17th. iPhone 3GS available for purchase on June 19th. All new 15″ MacBook Pro ( best configuration Up to 3.06 Dual Core CPU. Up to 8GB of RAM. Up to 500GB 7200RPM HD. Or, 256GB SSD) The 13″ MacBook is now called a MacBook Pro. Starts at $1,199. Cheaper than the MacBook it replaces (Gets the new display, SD card slot and better battery life, the backlit keyboard is now standard in it as well FireWire 800). New OS Snow Leopard, Safari 4.0. “The White Ribbon” directed by controversial Austrian director Michael Haneke. “The White Ribbon” done entirely in black and white, chronicles a series of mysterious events in a small German town leading up to the outbreak of WWI. Best Actor and Best Actress awards went to Christopher Waltz (Inglorious Basterds) and Charlotte Gainsbourg (Antichrist). Jury Prize was shared by Andrea Arnold’s “Fish Tank” and Park Chan-Wook’s film “Thirst” while the Best Director Prize went to Brillante Mendoza for “Kinatay”. Last but not least Best Screenplay went to Chinese director Lou Ye for “Spring Fever” The Camera d’Or award went to Australian director Warwick Thornton for “Samson and Delilah”. Expect to see winning films in theaters in US and Europe some time this year or next…or DVD releases and super limited run in small theaters in New York and Los Angeles (hint Gomorra) Clips and trailers after the jump. -
Sherlock Holmes Trailer

Starring Robert Downey Jr (Detective Sherlock Holmes) and Jude Law (Doctor Watson). The classic tale by Arthur Conan Doyle about a phlegmatic sleuth now retold for the new generation by Guy Ritchie. Ergo shirtless, womanizing, gets punched in the face but doesn’t fall Detective Sherlock Holmes and calm, reassuring, slightly jealous of his companion Doctor Watson. Is it fun? We shall wait and see when the film comes out in December. The HD trailer is after the jump.
