  • Donnis Interview | Video

ATL-reppin’, MC Donnis spent a lot of 2009 climbing the hip-hop ranks with live performance videos, profuse freestyles, and attention-getting tracks that leaked much to our delight. Having a mixtape with 10 Deep ain’t a bad thing either, just ask Kid Cudi and Wale.

All this grindin’ brought Donnis a deal to release the single “Gone”, with a video under A-Trak’s, Fool’s Gold label. I recently caught up with Donnis to talk music, plans for 2010, his fashion game, and how he is definitely no longer the underdog.

  • Jasmine Solano Interview | Video

Ask anyone from Brooklyn where to go on a random Monday night and they’ll tell you Electric Punanny, located at Sway night club in Manhattan’s West Village. Next thing they may tell you is to check out Jasmine Solano, the Queen B, resident DJ and co-creator of E.P.  A testament to the word Grind, Jasmine worked for years in video production while doubling as a closet MC. Fast forward to today and Ms. Jasmine’s got two singles, “That’s Not It” and “CoCo Puff” moving crowds across the nation while opening for massive talents Sean Kingston, Ghost Face, Clipse and Rakim. She killed it as the only female MC at Rock The Bells and toured with NYC punk-rappers Ninjasonik all summer.

Find Jasmine at any worthy 5 Borough party, as this much sought-after member of Brooklyn creative royalty will definitely be in your ipod shuffle asap, and you know we ain’t even frontin’.  Ant Hull caught up with Jasmine recently to discuss her new found success, long-time hustle and lovin’ on some shiny pants. Check out the interview below, and help us blast this Philli chick into her much deserved spotlight as BK’s latest musical heir.

  • Matt and Kim | Interview

If there is one word to descibe the music of  Matt and Kim, it’s energetic!  Grand, the follow up-album to 2006’s Matt and Kim is an accurate portrayal of what the title presents.  With the  commercial success of “Daylight“  and a recent  MTV VMA win for “breakthrough video” with “Lessons Learned,” these two have burst out of the dark warehouses they used to perform in, to the hearts of  audiences everywhere.  I caught up with Matt and Kim at one of many sold out shows to talk about touring, making the album, and how they create one of the best live shows I’ve seen.
