As a huge fan of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland (particularly the Cheshire Cat), I was thoroughly thrilled to see this latest collaborative venture between Span of Sunset and Disney. This 8" vinyl Cheshire Cat has seen a metal music inspired makeover with its distinct red and black coloring, and silver accenting has been added to its mischievous grin as well as tip of the tail. Also, as an extension of the metal music theme, a case is also provided that draws inspiration from "roadie" cases with its black body and metal colored edges. This very special vinyl figure has been produced in extremely limited quantities, so be sure to check out Span of Sunset's site, or just stop by the physical location if you are in Los Angeles.
The classic and iconic Nike Cortez will be seeing a radical new makeover this coming Spring/Summer courtesy of Nike Sportswear. The Cortez will see some significant weight loss, an increase in comfort, and some maximum flexibility, as well as an updated monicker to reflect these changes: the Nike Sportswear Cortez Fly Motion. You will also notice the addition of Flywire, which adds another dimension to this piece of footwear, as it makes the shoe much lighter, while enhancing its durability. The Cortez Fly Motion and other pieces from Nike Sportswear's Spring/Summer 2009 collection will be released this weekend at The Montalbán in Los Angeles.
The second delivery from Brett Westfall's Unholy Matrimony line has hit the Comme des Garcons Guerrilla Store +1 213 recently and I just happened to be there to check out the goods first hand. I was immediately drawn to the white button up shirt with the hand-dyed sleeves as purple is just about my favorite color. The fit was perfect and the materials used are top-notch, as was the case with all the other new arrivals. Another item that impressed me was the flannel. Its hearty feel and rugged appeal really won me over, and coupled with the lenght and fit, it made for an all around sure shot. Also, some tees from Unholy Matrimony's "Prints" line made their way through. The colorful tees come on soft cotton and they feature Westfall's graphics and would make a nice pickup for any fans of his work.

I came across these a minute ago on the web, and had to post them. Ann Demeulemeester has just released these very nice pieces of Italian made footwear. I cannot stop staring at the high top sneakers because I think they are absolutely fantastic. The very clean, high-quality looking suede looks uber-soft and the black woven lining around the sole and upper is a nice touch. In addition to these great high tops, a pair of perforated white leather sneakers that seem to enjoy the same high-quality construction as the aforementioned high tops. Both are great, but carry a high price tag, so these are out of the running as far as immediate pickups go. Oh well...
Raf Simmons has released this pair of hi-top sneakers that I find interesting. The clean white leather really pops due to the bold black lining that is found throughout the shoes. I think the black lining against the white sort of reminds me of a Piet Mondrian sans the coloring and the velcro straps add to the overall look.
