Earlier in the week, we gave you a preview of the "Clowns" exhibition that opens tomorrow at the Corey Helford Gallery in Culver City and now, we would like to present to you part 2 of the preview. This round features works from some of my favorite artists including Joshua Petker, Audrey Kawasaki, Gary Baseman, Russ Pope and more. As you can clearly see from the previews, this show is shaping up to be something very special to say the least. Southern California residents should definitely make it a point to stop by! Check the images of preview 2 after the jump.
The Continental Gallery in Downtown Los Angeles was the location for last night's VIP opening for the second series of Disney's BLOC28 Artist Series program. Yevgeniy Shukhman and myself were in attendance to view the latest efforts from the Disney program in which the world's most famous mouse gets a makeover at the hands of some of today's most prominent street artists. It was indeed a packed house as people came in flocks to see Mickey Mouse as interpreted through the eyes of artists the likes of Aroe, Chaz Bojorquez, Ewok, Rime, Tenga and Suiko. As an added bonus, works from the first series, which featured our friend Steven Daily, Greg Simkins, David Flores, Mear One, and Slick were all shown alongside the second series participants' work. Have a look at the images provided by Yevgeniy after the jump.
The Shadow Gallery had a chance to catch up with Sixpack's Director Lionel Vivier. Sixpack started out as a shop in France that carried and sold street wear, records, spraycans, posters, books and other miscellaneous items, but in addition to that, it served as a meeting ground for folks like then unknown DJ Feadz and Tacteel of TTC. TSG asks a lot of questions and Lionel is there delivering all the indepth info for the site's readers.
Undefeated will be releasing this Tier 0 Nike Court Force High Lux Edition on Saturday, November 15th at their Santa Monica and Los Angeles locations. As you can see from the images inside, the shoes come in black and grey and seem to make use of suede or possibley nubuck as far as the materials go. The Court Force is a nice and simple silhouette, so the colorways/materials used in this make for a nice offering all around. Check the images after the jump.
A few weeks ago, we wrote about some protective skins for Apple products from GelaSkins. Now we would like to show you another offering from them. Have a look at these skins designed by Alex Pardee. These are sure to spice up your iPhone and/or Macbook in a big way. Check the images after the jump.
The January issue of Dazed will be packed with some special content that will be contributed by folks in the 18 and under age group. In what almost seems like a school essay, Dazed has asked their younger readers to compose an article on what it is like to be young and British. In addition to the article, Dazed is inviting the youth demographic to use a template to remix fashion photographs shot by designer Hedi Slimane so that they reflect what it is to be young and British in their eyes. Sounds like a very interesting concept.
