Every season we produce a dozen varieties of shirt fabrics. I have my personal attachment to stripes that I even go to the factory and check on the threads of the machines before being processed.

The white and red line on the ends of the fabric is a WHITE MOUNTAINEERING signature.

Every year the usage of machines in factory deteriorates and the factory becomes unprofitable. Only 4 out of 30 machines were in usage on the day I took a visit. I feel that the technology in Japan might soon fade and only the same quality and style of fashion remain on the streets if we don’t start to rethink the quality which cannot be achieved by fast-fashion.

Designers have no power at all unless there are skilled technicians in their back streams. I believe the time is close for us to be re-think our status of domestic productions other than denim.

The renovation have began.
I thank the worker for realizing my requests and continue my search of plans for the next step everyday.

I still got no finished idea but I’m sure we will end up with what best suits us.

Anyway, we got a tight schedule.
