I have been sitting staring at my single speed bike for a month now with a really fucked up knee clouding my vision and thoughts … i love my bike but my knee keeps saying NO everytime i ride further than a mile or so … injuries through being an ACTIVE adolecent from football to skateboarding and BMX’ing are catching up with me now like a sheriff in a movie chasing down the outlaw … so im thinking of getting some gears put on it to ease the pain and allow me to ride further without the aforementioned agony … soooo im looking around on line to get some ideas … and i go to www.archivalclothing.blogspot.com (frikkin great site) and i look at affiliated blogs and see www.winterbicycles.com … WOW!!! this guy Eric Estlund is the man … awesome beautiful handcrafted bikes from city to track to randonee’ (french for excursion dont ya know)
His work is fantastic … and he builds bikes for folks like a savile row tailor makes suits for the gentry … now fairenough he doesnt add gears to all his bikes but he shows that they can be added depending on needs … my needs are KNEEDS !! ha ha … so i am gonna try and get some gears put on my slick machine in order to enjoy le cyclisme as opposed to lookin upon it as a chore and hinderance to my walking ability …thanks to Eric and his site … heres a few pics … back in the saddle soon i hope !!
