I checked out my old friend Francesco Celemente’s opening on Saturday. It was a interesting show for Deitch unlike most of what they have been showing of late. Francesco is one of the first people I knew who made a serious living from being a fine artists and is a nice cat he always seemed amused at me and my friends antics and always invited us to his functions and what not. He is a part of NYC in a participatory way which I dig. I also am a big fan of his work is emotive, beautiful and personal. There is no conveyor belt prefabricated baloney going on in his work. His work is honest and focused. This show was no exception.
