Just got back from Kris Kuksi’s mind blowing show at Joshua Liner Gallery this evening. I have rarely seen a artists work captivate a galleries attendees this much. This show has to be seen in person the limitations of my camera and digital photography cant do these pieces justice. Kuksi hailing from Hays, Kansas considers this work mixed media assemblage as opposed to sculpture. This refers to his sourcing pre existing figures and articles and augmenting and juxtaposing them in various macabre settings. I call this stuff tremendous. Look at the work:

Detail

This piece was about 4 feet by 3 feet to give you a reference of the scale

This detail shot is unreal this is a side shot of the previous jump off…Every time you look at his work you see something new…Its sensory overload at it’s most enjoyable

IMMINENT DOMAIN:This piece was 25 feet long and was weighed in at 250 pounds…..This was one of the most impressive pieces in a over all pretty impressive show

Details of Imminent Domain: for more pics of Kris Kuksi’s amazing work you can check my site you know the drill here.

This shot is trying to how you the scale that Kuksi is dealing with in terms of detail

A few more:

Here is Mr Kuksi at his triumphant opening…What a show like I said you really need to see this one with your own 2 eyes to understand the scope, the detail and the overall impressiveness of this show……. Some might consider Kuksi just a model re assembler of sorts but that would be dead wrong….Dude has his own unique style and medium and it’s really something you need to experience to fully understand….Great show…….go if you can Joshua Liner gallery 548 w 28th st it’s more than worth your while………

For more of the show check my site out, here.
