Saving Kutmah.. Saving A Friend
I’ve known Kutmah for twelve years. We met while I was opening and working at the Urban Outfitters on Melrose right out of high school. I caught a glimpse of him skating by along the sidewalk, walked into Wasteland where he was working, and poof! Friends.
If you’ve never had the privilege of enjoying a night out in LA (or anywhere) listening to him spin, seeing his artwork, or shaking his hand.. this post might not mean much.. but for those of us who know him, we have to act in saving him.
Kutmah as taken from his house on Wednesday, interrogated by the INS and moved to New Mexico this week to be deported out of the US, and everyone needs to do what they can to help.
All I can think of is what an amazingly kind person Kutmah is…. that he always has a hug to give when he sees you, that he loves his friends and family.. and that it’s Mothers Day weekend, and he loves his mother enough to keep Seal songs in his music repertoire because he knows how much she loves him. If Kutmah was gone, I think all of our lives would be, for lack of a better word, emptier. I need him. You need him. LA needs him. We all need him. Let’s fight to get him home.
All I’m asking you to do is take less than five minutes from your day to fill out this petition asking to help Kutmah. So please.. sign!
Thank you for your time and I hope you enjoy this weekend with your mother, your family, your friends, and realize how lucky you are.
