The Belated Standard NYC.
It was a belated encounter with the Standard for two reasons: My flight to New York was icing up in the worse snow storm in Beijing airport, I got stuck on the run way for 5 hours, missed my connection flight in Shanghai, flew to Paris (I was in London just 4 days ago!) and finally arrived in the my favourite Apple after 23 hours!
André Balazs proudly present his Standard NYC, designed by Todd Schliemann of the New York firm Polshek Partnership Architects.
Second reason dated back in 2009 June, my last visit to the Meat Packing District, I saw this Le-Cobusier -like glass-slab building, overlooking from Soho House in a sunny afternoon.
The building floating above the High Line, the High Line is an 80-year-old elevated freight railroad running down Manhattan’s West Side, it cuts diagonally through the beautiful garden.
The bed was way too soft!
The view that I woke up for the following week, try not to look at the right – Jersey…
I split my toe opened at the gym… was jumping one-legged with my bloody Nike Free and socks to the lift, thanks to my man’s “ Adventure First Aid Kit”!
Belated and beloved.
