Mare139’s StyleWriter Limited Edition Sculpture

Acclaimed sculptor/painter Carlos Mare139 Rodriguez releases the first series of limited edition sculptures based on the StyleWriter sculpture which has been widely seen and exhibited in Europe. For the first time this unique sculpture work which continues to gain provenance in international exhibitions will be available to collectors at an entry level prices. The StyleWriter edition is offered in two options, Mirror Polished stainless steel with a matte finish interior and also offered is a Cold Roll Steel edition which is untreated steel.

Banksy Graffiti Doubles the Price of Real Estate

An interesting story on Telegraph UK came to my attention today, A former run-down pub in Liverpool has seen its market value soar after it was branded by a graffiti artist, thought to be enigmatic artist Banksy.
As Banksy continues his legacy this year with the recent series of more public installations (Villages Pet Store) and his major billboard sized street art displays in NYC, his reign in the world of street art is as strong as ever. And along with the ever increasing fame of the secretive artist is also a demand for the art, as more and more art collectors are now looking to snatch a piece of their own authentic artwork. As a result a run-down pub in Liverpool managed to double it’s initial value of £495,000, to (more…)

Futura Laboratories Bearbrick and G-Shock Boxset

The Bearbrick has become the canvas for so many artists over the year while the G-Shock, currently celebrating 25 years is not far behind. Futura2000 with his label Futura Laboratories is the latest name to add his work to both as part of a boxset. Both pieces are finished with a Lego-esque pallet of colors while keeping his typical graff work aside for this project the finished product is more than impressive.

Valextra for Monocle

Milanese brand Valextra is well-known for its top-quality leather luggage. Established in 1937 by Giovanni Fontana, the company’s fortunes were revived in 2000 when Carminati Molina bought the company. Now, exclusively for Monocle, Valextra’s craftsmen have created this soft leather notebook holder that comes with a fine-lined notebook. The design also doubles as a passport holder. The leather is mustard but the edges are inky green, as is the stitching. Each notebook is stamped in gold “Valextra for Monocle” and comes in a black presentation box.

Steve Powers Protection Raincoats

Yesterday we showed you some coverage from Steve Powers and Matt Goias show at colette, ‘The Attraction of Mud’, you would have noticed these traditional raincoats presented as part of the show. The show had a common theme, launched on World AIDS Day, the protective coats, customised by the two artist have an obvious influence. The coats are now available for sale online at colette for just 250 Euros. Even if the coat is a little bright to be worn, this is a great collectable piece. (more…)
