I am going to take a break this week from our Sunday 'Introducing' piece to present to you the recap for the the "Clowns" exhibition that opened last night over at the Corey Helford Gallery in Culver City, CA. We put together a couple of preview posts found
here and
here, but now we would like to show you the whole lot of them in one shot as photographed last night.
A nice crowd was on hand to check out this amazing group show that saw participation from many outstanding talents the likes of
Joshua Petker, Tokidoki,
Gary Baseman,
Audrey Kawasaki,
D*face, Natalia Fabia,
Will Barras,
Word to Mother,
Joe Ledbetter, Buff Monster,
Andrew Brandou,
Alex Pardee, and many more. There was an abundance of great art on display ranging from sculptures to paintings to mixed media pieces with a lot of cool highlights. I have a lot of images for you to check, so click inside and enjoy the pics after the jump.
The Continental Gallery in Downtown Los Angeles was the location for last night's VIP opening for the second series of Disney's BLOC28 Artist Series program. Yevgeniy Shukhman and myself were in attendance to view the latest efforts from the Disney program in which the world's most famous mouse gets a makeover at the hands of some of today's most prominent street artists. It was indeed a packed house as people came in flocks to see Mickey Mouse as interpreted through the eyes of artists the likes of Aroe, Chaz Bojorquez, Ewok, Rime, Tenga and Suiko. As an added bonus, works from the first series, which featured our friend Steven Daily, Greg Simkins, David Flores, Mear One, and Slick were all shown alongside the second series participants' work. Have a look at the images provided by Yevgeniy after the jump.
This week's Introducing will feature an artist by the name of Scott Campbell. Scott currently is showing in two group shows, both of which opened this past Friday at Gallery 1988 in San Francisco and at
T & P Fine Art in Philadelphia. If you are around either of these great cities, you should stop by and check out the shows, as Campbell's work definitely something to check out. Now, back to the featured artist...
