SlamxHype blogger and KZO mastermind, Joel K, posted up a lookbook here that showcased his Fall/Winter 2009 collection entitled “Hallowed Ground” and I must say that I was thoroughly impressed with the actual pieces and their presentation. He recently posted additional photos on his site that feature some more detailed looks of what to expect come this Fall/Winter. There are a lot of interesting pieces — namely the jackets and knits — that feature high-quality construction, while reflecting a rugged, yet refined look. I am definitely looking forward to seeing more from this emerging label in the future.
Back in December, we mentioned a book from Ryan McGinness that is simply titled, Ryan McGinness Works. The book is about to be released, and to set things off proper-like, a show featuring some new works from the artist will be taking place this weekend on March 7th at Deitch Projects.
Sketch Theatre is something we have spoken about on here before as it features some of our friends on the participant tip, but they have recently announced something very pleasing to our ears: their first gallery show featuring works sketched by their impressive roster of participating talent. The show will be taking place on Saturday March 21, 2009 at the Gnomon Gallery in Los Angeles, CA. Sketches from Jeff McMillan, Steven Daily, Greg “Craola” Simkins, Travis Louie, Shawn Barber and many more will be on display at this unique exhibition in which works seen on their site can now be appreciated in person.
