5 Minutes With… Daiki Suzuki
Daiki Suzuki’s Engineered Garments has become a phenomenom in recent times, his work at Woolrich Woolen Mills and Engineered Garments has changed the way we view menswear, this might sound like an incredibly bold statement, but when you look at the way mens fashion has been influenced in recent years there’s no doubting Daiki Suzuki’s role. We caught up with the very busy designer for 5 minutes.
What’s 2010 going to be about for you? Looking forward to different possibilities but always looking for the next step up.
What are the worst trends in menswear today? Americana being treated as a trend, it really shouldn’t be.
Whats the best thing to come out of 2009 menswear trends? I guess it would be authentic feeling in clothing but Americans discovering Americana is really interesting. I think it’s something that was forgotten but has come to light because of outside influences.
What’s the must have item for any man in 2010? A good pair of leather sole shoes instead of sneakers.
What’s your favourite thing about where you live? It’s an exciting city, every little thing getting together one small place makes for great tension.
What are you reading? Nothing really.
What’s the next film you’ll watch? I have been so busy that I have had no time to think about it.
Your favourite store in your city? Tent and Trails.
Whats the best thing to come out of Blog Culture? Well the best and worst thing actually is access and speed to information.
