Thanks to her recent Vogue spread, Kim and Kanye‘s daughter is already a more successful model than most young women who pursue such a career. Now, North has issued a statement about some of the controversy surrounding the shoot, mainly her furrowed brow and the nudity that some have deemed tasteless.
Read her whole statement below. See the whole spread in the gallery above.
It’s me North. I’m sure by now you’ve all seen the pictures of my family in Vogue, and since the special baby-sized phone my dad had Maison Martin Margiela make has been ringing non-stop since they were published, I figured I’d take a moment to give you guys my two cents.
I think it’s pretty clear that I’m not thrilled with the whole thing. I mean, look at my picture in the spread. My furrowed brow? Yeah, obviously I did not want to be there. I mean seriously, I’m a baby — a tiny, little baby. I like to spend my time doing baby things like throwing my toys and trying to sit up. I get that I’m a big deal, but I’m less then happy that my parents and the editors of Vogue have decided to sensationalize me further by trotting my bare bottom out in one of the most popular magazines in the world.
That being said, we do look great don’t we? Yes, there are the awkward, if obligatory, photographs of my parents kissing i.e. an attempt to once again prove the legitimacy of their relationship. But, come on guys, give it up, they’re in love. I’m with them, like, a lot and they’re 100% percent in love.
So, to my detractors, I’ll just say, I’m a baby. If you have problems with how I’m portrayed, blame my parents — remember, I have media-crazed parents. I’m just trying to make my way in this big world and it’s not my fault if they want to have me scowl in the buff for a Vogue spread. I can’t walk, I can’t talk, I can’t get away, I have to go with the flow.
Alright, I gotta get going. It’s naptime.
Love and Light,
