Established in 1643 by Claude Trudon, who left his homeland of Picardie in the north of France to come to Paris. From a fortunate marriage, he becomes the owner of a grocery store on rue Saint-Honoré, where he carried a wide range of traditional hand made candles. Today, Cire Trudon is owned by Ramdane Touhami. Ramdane is famous for the store he opened in Rue du Temple, Paris, called L’Epicerie, and his creative collaborations with different brands and designers. His clients include the French department store Le Bon Marché, the designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, but also the Black Panthers where he organised their 40th anniversary. A new store in New York has recently opened and with the brand staying true to it’s heritage, it is definitely worth picking up some of their amazing scented candles and capsules if you have the chance.
