Erik Parker: Colorful Resistance
Celebrated American contemporary artist, Erik Parker, is the subject of a new book by Mónica Ramírez-Montagut. The book offers a retrospective look at the irreverent and boisterous artwork of the painter – work which bridges underground culture and the pop-surrealism movement, whilst taking on the issues of the day through an “antiauthoritarian approach to established ideologies”. The author, Ramírez-Montagut, is a curator at the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Connecticut. With a foreword written by Peter Saul, the book has been published by Rizzoli.
