The U.S. Open of Surfing is easily one of the largest annual Southern California events and this year’s will probably end up being one of the larger ones due to the exciting addition of some rather large musical acts all performing as part of a free concert series put on by Nike’s 3 action sports brands: Nike 6.0, Hurley and Converse.

Weezer, Cold War Kids, Hot Hot Heat and more will be performing during the 5-day concert series at the conclusion of the day’s surfing competition. The shows will be taking place from August 3rd to the 7th and the schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, August 3:                  4:30 – 6:30                  Cold War Kids preceded by The Soft Pack

Wednesday, August 4:            4:30 – 6:30                  Bedouin Soundclash preceded by Iration

Thursday, August 5:                4:30 – 6:30                  Switchfoot preceded by Timmy Curran

Friday, August 6:                     4:30 – 6:30                  Cobra Starship preceded by Street Drum Corps

Saturday, August 7:                 4:30 – 6:30                  Weezer preceded by Hot Hot Heat

In addition to the main surfing competition and the concert series, Converse will return with its Converse Coastal Carnage skateboarding mini-park event and Nike 6.0 will have BMX covered with the HB BMX Pro “park event.”
