Harper’s Bazaar Just Made the World a More Pleasant Place with Murakami’s Monsters
It’s Friday. You’ve still got a few more hours of weekly grind before you can clock off for a couple of days. Maybe you’re past deadline on that brief you were supposed to have cracked yesterday. Maybe your boss is on your back for the third time this week. It’s all good though – the Jellyfish Eyes characters just came to life and they’re making the world a more pleasant place one Harper’s Bazaar page at a time.
The magazine recently caught up with Takashi Murakami, the man behind the kawaii characters to talk about his animation, whilst photographer Jason Schmidt followed model Angela Lindvall around Los Angeles accompanied by Murakami’s happiness-inducing characters. It’s like Harper’s Bazaar finally figured out the formula for a universally appealing editorial – what’s not to like about sunshine, burgers and cuddly monsters?
