Cai Guo Qiang at Guggenheim NYC
This month see’s NYC’s Guggenheim museum play host to a look at the works of Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang with particular reference to his largest installation to date. ‘Stage One’(originally from 2004), the show captures nine real cars in a cinematic progression that simulates a car bombing. Stage One is just one of the series of works on display in this retrospective look over his career. "Cai Guo-Qiang is internationally acclaimed as an artist whose creative transgressions and cultural provocations have literally exploded the accepted parameters of art making in our time."
