Stones Throw artists Guilty Simpson and Percee P are currently tearing up Europe with their live tour. I was lucky enough to catch one of their phenomenal live shows last weeked, and this week they held a live instore event at Carhartt’s London flagship store (as previewed by us here). If, like me, you’re sick of hip-hop live shows being a bit like listening to a muffled version of the album while paying too much for drinks in an all-male environment, then this tour will be a welcome eye-opener. Guilty Simpson is waging a single-handed campaign to rescue us from the commercial horror that is chart hip-hop. With his tight lyrics, heavy flow, vocal clarity and dominating stage presence he’s been getting a string of great reviews in the run-up to the release of his first album ‘Ode to the Ghetto’ on March 25th. Percee P meanwhile has been grinding steadily and building a reputation for his lightning-fast delivery since he first picked up a mic at the tender age of 10. He’s been rapping since 1979 and has just dropped a remix version of his aptly-titled latest album ‘Perseverance’.

Check Stones Throw for the tour listings and keep your eyes peeled as they have more collaborative projects with Carhartt in the pipeline…
