Kaiju Invades NYC
Kaiju, which is Japanese for "strange beast", a term used to refer to a genre of tokusatsu a popular form of entertainment using special effects and puupetry. To sum it up, the most famous kaiju character would have to be Godzilla. Kaiju which is the theme of this epic exhibition which will feature custom pieces from Japanese and American toy designers inspired by the beast. The names of the artist’s just roll of the tongue with the likes of Pushhead, Tim Biskup, LeMarde and many more on hand and to boast Mishka have teamed up with Lamour Supreme to make a tee to celebrate the event.
The exhibition opens on Saturday April 19 at The Showroom Gallery in NYC and continues on Sunday April 20 and Monday April 21 and you will be able to view the work on toytokyo.com until the end of the month.
