More from Beijing, this time a look at the event hosted by Nike showcasing their involvement with BMX and the sports debut at the Olympic Games this summer. The event included artist designed number plates, the original Bob haro plate has re-emerged as a canvas for contemporay artists, such as Michael Lau, Dave Ortiz, Michael Leon, Andy Jenkins, Ronnie Bonner amongst numerous others. The Haro plate was the first iconic piece of graphic design in the sport, and as it moves into a new era, Nike have redeveloped this concept further. The event was amazing, in an amazing space, which also played host to the launch of Nike’s new BMX blazer designed by Michael Lau and a demo by some of the Nike 6.0 BMX team, Nigel Sylvester, Mike Spinner and Maxime Charveron.
