We’re the first to admit we don’t often shift the spotlight to the fairer sex here on SLAMXHYPE, but there are certain projects we just have to get behind. Take Riposte for example, a new women’s magazine set to launch this month. Following a cohesive format of five ideas, four meetings, three features, two essays and one icon per issue, Riposte introduces itself as a positive exploration of the modern woman, and if the art direction and content of issue 01 is anything to go by, we’ll be signing up for a subscription right away. With the inaugural issue featuring the likes of NYC based photographer Shaniqwa Jarvis, art editor of The New Yorker Françoise Mouly, designer Nelly Ben Hayoun, Portland based queen of street-food Nong Poonsukwattana, NTS Radio DJ Throwing Shade and Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast amongst many others, it’s packed full of good stuff. The good news? Guys can read it too. Riposte will launch with a party at London’s KK Outlet on November 27, with pre-orders available online now.
